Summer should be time to experiment and explore techniques that could have positive impacts on instruction during the traditional school year. Summer Recess focused on adult-youth co-creation, meaningful integration of technology in coursework, and the use of third spaces as real world classrooms.

Adult-youth co-creation involves educators and students working collaboratively in a group in which they have shared power and decision making. How might this be received by the adults? the students? Would it work in a traditional education setting?
While the use of technology in classroom has increased after the pandemic, their has not been an increase in the creativity of the tasks that this technology could be used for in classrooms. Could exposure to strategies and tools for multimedia production encourage participants to embrace the use of technology for invention during the traditional school year?
Learning to too often relegated to experiences that happen inside a classroom. This can result in knowledge without real world application. How might we demonstrate the importance of field trips and real world experiences as central to how traditional school should evolve?
